HY-8 Culvert is a hydraulic analysis tool used by drainage and roadway engineers to design and evaluate culverts at road and stream crossings. It automates standard culvert design methods to determine inlet versus outlet control, compute headwater and tailwater elevations across a range of discharges, and assess performance under various flow conditions, including roadway overtopping. The software supports single or multiple barrels and common shapes (circular, box, arch), with options for inlet configurations, materials, and roughness values.
HY-8 generates rating and performance curves, compares alternative sizes and layouts, and produces clear tabular and graphical reports suitable for design documentation.
